Ibiti in Forbes as a destination of "sustainable exclusivity"

June 5th, 2025

Ibiti was included by the magazine Forbes Brazil as one of six tips for sustainable and exclusive destinations on the planet. The special report by journalist Mari Campos, published in the June 2025 issue, recognizes hotel developments in different parts of the world that combine environmental preservation, real regeneration of ecosystems and transformative experiences.

Alongside names such as Kisawa Sanctuary (Mozambique), Wilderness Jao (Botswana), Six Senses (Bhutan), Silver Origin (Galapagos) and The Brando (French Polynesia), Ibiti is the representative in Latin America of this new way of living and traveling, where nature is the protagonist and comfort goes hand in hand with environmental awareness.

Ibiti is praised for its pioneering approach to rewilding, its integration with the local community and for offering profound hospitality, connected to nature and art.

A dream that has become a global reference

A Forbes presents the origins of the project as the fruit of an individual dream by businessman Renato Machado, who, enchanted by the mountainous and verdant region, began to acquire land to preserve it. Decades later, this initial gesture has unfolded into a real regeneration model: there are more than 6,000 hectares in an active conservation process, with four hospitality businesses, organic production and a school with innovative methodology.

"Everything is sustainable, from electric cars to organic farming supplying the restaurants, from smart energy consumption to water reuse, from waste recycling and composting to local labor," the article highlights.

Where art and nature merge

The article also mentions the monumental sculptures My Big Family, by Karen Cusolito, in front of the Pedra do Tatu view, as a symbol of the fusion between art and the natural landscape.

The experiences offered to guests - who can stay at Ibiti Engenho Lodge, Ibiti Village, the isolated houses of Ibiti Remote or the innovative Casa Einstein (Glass House) - are presented as part of immersive tourism. Guided walks, hikes, waterfall baths and garden-to-table cuisine are included in the program.

Brazilian pride among international giants

Being alongside projects such as The Brando and Six Senses reinforces the conviction that we are treading a necessary and inspiring path. This recognition also belongs to our guests, employees, partners and friends: everyone who builds and strengthens Ibiti every day.
