Socio-Environmental Projects
The Ibiti Project covers 6 thousand hectares of preserved areas or in the process of regeneration.
Reconnecting nature
Rewilding promotes the reintroduction of native fauna species to restore the ecosystem and reverse biodiversity loss.
The natural regeneration and reforestation over the last 40 years ensures dietary diversity for the reintroduced animals.
Northern muriqui
The largest primate in the Americas and exclusive to the Atlantic Forest, the muriqui is critically endangered.
In partnership with the Muriqui Biodiversity Institute (MIB), our goal is to increase the population, protect the species and contribute to scientific knowledge.
Muriquis can be observed at Muriqui’s House, a semi-captive enclosure with 4 hectares.
Tinamou and Guan
They are essential bird species for environmental education, as they are natural seeders of forests.
Since 2021, we have reintroduced 15 pairs of black-fronted piping guans to the region. Some are frequently seen at Fazenda Boa Vista.
Red-and-green macaw
It became extinct in a large part of the Brazilian Southeast due to deforestation and wildlife trafficking.
This macaw, in addition to being exuberant and intelligent, is docile, long-lived, monogamous and has an ability to imitate sounds – including the human voice.
Cougar
Project focused on research and conservation of the cougar, combined with sustainable ecotourism.
The objective is to monitor the cougars in the Ibitipoca region, using camera traps and installing GPS collars.
Wild Animal Release Area
In 2016, the Ibiti Project received authorization to be one of the bases in the country for the Project ASAS in partnership with the Brazilian Institute for Nature Protection (IBPN).
There are three large nurseries with native trees, plenty of food and a natural drinking fountain where animals rescued by IBAMA recover so they can gain freedom.
Sustainable local production
Gaia Produtos Ecológicos produces and sells food without the use of pesticides, with the organic product seal in process. Most of the ingredients used in the restaurants are supplied by Gaia.
- Intercropping to enrich the soil.
- Production of vegetables, legumes, fruits and cereals.
- What is not produced is purchased from local partners committed to sustainable practices.
A meeting of people and ideas
It offers courses, training, seminars and cultural activities to strengthen dialogue with the community.
And it goes further, organizing artistic and corporate immersions with a festive spirit that connects people and opens the Ibiti Project to neighbors and visitors, promoting regenerative knowledge on varied topics such as biodiversity, vegetarianism and spirituality.
Mogol's
New Life
This village belonging to the municipality of Lima Duarte (MG), previously emptied by the rural flight, is being reborn as a model community, with sustainable buildings, a vegetarian restaurant and accommodations that bring visitors closer to residents.

Economic sustainability through local businesses
We intend to transform all internal economic activity into a business managed by one or more people from the region, in tune with our values and which offers our visitors excellence in goods and services.
The idea arose with the aim of balancing the relationship between environmental protection and income generation, with the offer of new services and products, whether in the promotion of tours, food cultivation, production of handicrafts, etc.
Maria and Carlos Borges
The couple Mariinha and Carlinhos run the Remote accommodation in Areião. They live nearby and grow most of the ingredients that are used.
They welcome guests with the best of Minas Gerais hospitality: home-cooked food on a wood-burning stove and horseback rides through waterfalls and beautiful landscapes at sunrise and sunset.

Team MIB
MIB – Muriqui Biodiversity Institute is an NGO coordinated by Marcello Nery, Fernanda Tabacow and Leandro Moreira. In addition, it has a team of biologists and veterinarians who help with the Muriqui House project, which operates at the Ibiti Project in partnership with several entities and which also has the co-coordination of biologist and professor at the Federal University of Viçosa, Fabiano R. de Melo.
Besides conducting groundbreaking field research, the team offers guests guided tours of the forest where the group of northern muriquis monitored by the project live. Critically endangered, they are the largest primates in the Americas and have only 12 populations in the wild, with just over a thousand individuals living in the wild.
Guilherme Salgado

Under development, Ibiti Regenera will account for carbon sequestration in the area of degraded pastures undergoing regeneration and neutralize its footprint. Together we are stronger and we can transform our story.

And he taught a lot about the nature of the region, becoming a reference in Ibiti.
With his sound equipment and traveling movie screen, it offers guests outdoor cinema in a variety of settings. An added treat for those who enjoy the connection between art and nature.
Kelly Lima
Kelly Lima, a production engineer, and her right-hand woman Janice Ventorim, an agronomist specializing in organic production, produce more than 200 varieties of fruits, grains and vegetables. The natural foods are on the shelves of Gaia Café, the local market, and are supplied to the restaurants of the Ibiti Project, providing more flavor and health in each dish.
Kelly is also the entrepreneur behind the Ibiti Village accommodation concept and the vegetarian restaurant Yucca, which are run by operations manager Gonçalo Catarino.
