Ibiti invites you to try fresh, local ingredients

Ibiti’s Minas Gerais cuisine dates back to the Gold Rush. Starting with the unparalleled flavor of that home-cooked meal, in the best “comfort food” style, prepared by locals at the Areião restaurant, with a deck overlooking the sea of hills and a recently renovated dining room with glass windows, elegant and cozy. There, high up, Dona Maria commands the wood-burning stove, from which comes the pot roast, free-range chicken, sautéed vegetables… And there is no shortage of sweets and delicacies from the mountains.

Ibiti’s Minas Gerais cuisine

The Minas Gerais style is refined at the Engenho Lodge restaurant, a large house that resembles old farms and plenty of food. The “pão de queijo” made on the spot with fresh ingredients is the most sought-after breakfast delicacy, along with the traditional cinnamon bread from Ibitipoca. At night, the menu is inspired by the cuisine of chefs such as Claude Troisgros and Pablo Oazen, produced by hands from Minas Gerais, which includes affection and a little cheese where possible.

The PANCs (non-conventional edible plants) and the fruit of the juçara palm tree, typical of the region's forests, give personality to dishes at the vegetarian restaurant Yucca, which draws attention, in Ibiti Village, for its beds of edible flowers at the entrance, the passion fruit covering the outdoor tables and the vegetable garden of leaves and spices. It is a true “farm to table” cuisine to see and taste.
