Beto Nardelli is a forestry engineer and Director of Biodiversity at Ibiti Projeto. But he has always been fascinated by movies. When the opportunity arose to create a screening room in Ibiti Village, he immediately suggested that the space should recapture the charm of the old street cinemas. Thus was born Cine Mazzaropiwith its red velvet curtains, signs at the entrance and comfortable armchairs.

"It was the work of many hands. I decorated the entrance together with Gabi (an Ibiti resident and collaborator). I made the little stage inside, and the DVDs came from my collection and that of Sérgio Medeiros. I also suggested the name Mazzaropi, to pay homage to a redneck character - after all, we're in the countryside, right?"says Beto.
